Kansas City Symphony’s Mobile Music Box at Gillham Park

First launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Kansas City Symphony’s Mobile Music Box provides free outdoor chamber music concerts to audiences across the metro. To date, Symphony musicians have performed in 258 unique locations, spread over 93 zip codes, reaching tens of thousands of people. Join the Mobile Music Box at Gillham Park for its 2026 season closing show with this special brass quintet performance. Lawn chairs, picnics and blankets are encouraged. Please bring your children and pets!

He stars on Netflix’s Emmy Award-winning reboot series Queer Eye, where he shines as the hair guru and self-care advocate; and he hosts the popular podcast, Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness. Jonathan also starred on the Emmy-nominated web series Gay of Thrones, a witty social commentary series recapping HBO’s Game of Thrones. He wrote it while living in America as a tribute to the power and majesty of American music and landscapes. Known for their dynamic collaborations and genre-blending performances, Ensemble Ibérica brings together world-class artists to reimagine classical, folkloric, and contemporary repertoire, creating immersive experiences that connect audiences across cultures. Led by guitarist and artistic director Beau Bledsoe, the group features Turkish cellist and vocalist Ezgi Karakus and percussionist John Currey, whose combined artistry reflects a shared commitment to expanding the reach of underrepresented music through performance, education, and international collaboration. This special program explores a rich tapestry of global musical traditions, featuring the modern Argentine tangos of Astor Piazzolla alongside beloved classic tangos. They will also present Renaissance works by John Dowland, whose music reflects the expressive depth of early European art music. Expanding beyond these traditions, the program also includes folkloric music from Algeria and the Netherlands, highlighting the diverse cultural voices and musical languages that connect communities across continents.

Nash will be joined by Todd Caldwell (keyboards), Adam Minkoff (bass, drums, guitar and vocals) and Zack Djanikian (guitar, bass, drums and vocals), Nash will take the audience on a musical journey that encompasses his years with The Hollies, CSN, CSNY and his beloved solo efforts. ABOUT GRAHAM NASH Nash is a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, with Crosby, Stills, and Nash and with The Hollies. He was also inducted twice into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, as a solo artist and with CSN, and he is a GRAMMY Award winner. Towering above virtually everything that Graham Nash has accomplished in his multi-faceted career stands the litany of songs that he has written and introduced to the soundtrack of the past half-century. His remarkable body of work, beginning with his contributions to The Hollies opus, including “On a Carousel” and “Carrie Anne,” continues all the way to Now (2023), his most recent solo album. The original classic union of Crosby, Stills & Nash (& Young) lasted but twenty months. Herbie Hancock

Herbie Hancock has been an integral part of every popular music movement since the 1960s. As a member of the Miles Davis Quintet that pioneered a groundbreaking sound in jazz, he also developed new approaches on his own recordings, followed by his work in the 70s — with record-breaking albums such as “Headhunters” — that combined electric jazz with funk and rock in an innovative style that continues to influence contemporary music. “Rockit” and “Future Shock” marked Hancock's foray into electronic dance sounds; during the same period he also continued to work in an acoustic setting with V.S.O.P.Hancock received an Academy Award for his Round Midnight film score and 14 Grammy Awards, including Album Of The Year for “River: The Joni Letters,” and two 2011 Grammy Awards for the globally collaborative CD, “The Imagine Project.”Hancock serves as Creative Chair for Jazz for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association and as Institute Chairman of the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz. In 2011 Hancock was named a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, and in December of 2013, received a Kennedy Center Honor. His memoir, Herbie Hancock: Possibilities, was published by Viking in 2014, and in February 2016 he was awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
